Parishes

Getting Started: in Parishes

What Does a Parish Need to Get Started?

Just a few key people:

  • One staff liaison or contact person
  • One host couple or single parent for every 4–5 participating

We’ve found small groups foster the most trust, sharing, and spiritual growth.  We’ll provide everything your team needs: short training videos, easy-to-use resources, and ongoing support.

Here is a checklist you might appreciate.  You will need:

  • Host couples for every 4-5 participating couples
  • Host parent for every 5-10 participating single parents
  • Tables and chairs
  • A person in charge of hospitality who will make the gathering welcoming and encourages fellowship.
  • Consider how you want to supply the gathering with food.  It can be very simple.  Just consider the parents in your community.  It could be light refreshments, wine and cheese, desserts etc.
  • Stable Wifi, a projector, and sound system to show the videos and listen to the audio story included in each lesson.

Important note:  The Single Parent Track includes the same videos as the Couples Track, with the exception of the video for the First Guiding Principle. Each track has its own set of discussion questions. If you’re meeting as one large group, you’ll need two separate spaces for the first gathering (only for the short video) so single parents can watch their unique video. After that, everyone can watch the same videos together. Single parents will still meet in their own small group to discuss their specific questions.
