Getting Started: In Schools

What Does A School Need to Get Started?

What Does a School Need to Get Started?

Just a few key people:

  • One staff liaison or contact person
  • One host couple or single parent for every 4–5 participating

We’ve found small groups foster the most trust, sharing, and spiritual growth. We’ll provide everything your team needs: short training videos, easy-to-use resources, and ongoing support.

Here is a checklist you might appreciate.  You will need:

  • Host couples for every 4-5 participating couples
  • Host parent for every 5-10 participating single parents
  • Important note:  The First Guiding Principle has one different video and there are different questions for all the guiding principles.  If you are meeting all together, you will want a separate space for the Single Parents to meet to view one video in the first Guiding Principle.  For everything other gathering, they can be together all throughout.  Have them meet together as a small group with their own questions to get their conversation started.
  • Tables and chairs
  • A person in charge of hospitality who will make the gathering welcoming and encourages fellowship.
  • Consider how you want to supply the gathering with food.  It can be very simple.  Just consider the parents in your community.  It could be light refreshments, wine and cheese, desserts etc.
  • A projector and sound system to show the videos and listen to the audio story included in each lesson.
